additional information you need.
Question:
How far in debt do I need to be before I should look into debt
consolidation? Normally, people look for debt consolidation
help when they feel overwhelmed by the debt they have acquired.
If you no longer feel that you are in control of your finances,
and are living paycheck to paycheck and still not getting your
bills all paid, you should seek professional guidance.
Question:
How does debt consolidation work?
After requesting your free online debt consolidation quote and
analysis, you and your debt consolidation counselor will first
take a look at the type of debt you owe, the total owed on each,
and the monthly payment you are presently making. After doing
this your debt counselor will be able to help you design a budget
and decide what you can sensibly afford to pay off monthly. Once
a re-payment plan is made, the counselor works with your creditors
on making those payment arrangements. In most cases, creditors
are willing to reduce interest, or even the principal owed, as
long as they know you are serious about cleaning up your accounts.
Question: Wouldn't it be easier to just file for bankruptcy?
Bankruptcy may be the "easy" way out temporarily, although
it is a decision that shouldn't be made based upon the ease of
filing. Bankruptcy is an action you would want to consider only
if there were no other options available. Bankruptcy can remain
on your credit report for up to 10 years. For many people this
can be devastating to not only your credit, but to your job and
family.
Question:
I would like to talk with a debt counselor, what should I do now?
Your
first step is to fill out the online debt consolidation quote
form. You will be asked a series of questions, and the information
you submit will be delivered to a counselor who can assist you
in deciding what will work best in your situation.
Question: What is the initial charge for submitting the
online quote form?
Nothing. This is a free service, in which you pay nothing.
Question: What states do you offer services in?
We serve all 50 states and Washington D.C. You will be directed
to the debt consolidation counselor closest to your home.
